Ryu and Giselle
Today was our first Books and Baked Goods reading day. Ryu is an 8-year old boy who speaks Japanese and is waiting for his mentor. Giselle just graduated from college and has volunteered with Camp Kesem in the past. This was a perfect match. They read Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets and enjoyed chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. They plan to read again next Sunday to see what happens in the story. According to Ryu's mom, he is "sipping milk and lis

New Partnership
I am so happy to say that Linda, from Lin Alan Studio, is not only supporting us by wearing our masks, but she is also selling them at her studio. Additionally, she is offering her services for our caregivers. Like our in-home massages, we can now also offer in-home haircuts/trims. Thank you for your support in making Erik's Way a great program for families impacted by cancer in the South Bay.

Sarcoma Awareness Month
Happy July 1st! Today marks the start of Sarcoma Awareness Month. Please wear yellow this month as a show of hope and support for those who have been affected by sarcoma. Remember, Erik's Way has been created to support the cancer community, but it was because Erik himself battled undifferentiated sarcoma for two years.

The Face Masks Came
Working with One Stone Apparel, a local company here in Gardena, we created our very own face masks. Not only is this necessary because of the current health pandemic, but when visiting homes of those who are sick we should be protecting them by wearing a face mask. Our masks are black with a heat press logo design. Asking only $10 for each mask!!! Thank you for your continued support of Erik's Way.

The Beginning of Erik's Way
Towards the end of Erik's journey, I bought him journals that he could write in. One for Madison that had picture prompts, one for Luke that had journal prompts, and one for me that was filled with blank pages. Erik wasn't much of a writer, or a talker for that matter, but I wanted him to write to us if he felt like it. I hadn't been ready to read what he wrote to me, but on the anniversary of his death-March 29-I decided to. It made me cry, made me love him even more...b
